A woman with an incredible voice

A talented actress

A whitty personality

No matter what some people say :

It takes a hell of a lot of courage to look this way at 74 !

So, dear Cher,

Thank you for your songs, your magic shows and for being such an inspirational person.

But most of all :

Thank you for being Cher

We love you

I’ve been struggling quite a while. With the blog, I mean. How to get the best articles : not too long (my Website keeper Giorgos tells me), not too short…

I thought, in order to get some “material” on the blog … let’s make them “substantial” ….

We’re about one and a half year later now. Giorgos, you were RIGHT ! I can better do them SHORT & EFFECTIVE ! Straight to the point & cut all the “scientific” facts/information.

So, from now : articles “new style”. SHORT – EFFECTIVE – READ THEM IN ONE MINUTE

Following the structure :

  • What it is
  • What it does (or is supposed to :-))
  • Main actives (YES OF COURSE DEARS)
  • Who’s it for
  • Should you get it – my opinion

Covers about everything you need to know; doesn’t it ? I could have figured this out about eighteen months ago ….

Thanks Giorgos, the message came through 🙂

Yes dears, I know …. It’s been a long time no see …. Sorry for that, but sometimes life takes you on a tour you didn’t plan.

Summer was a bit rough, lots of emotions and hard facts of life to get through. Don’t want to go into details, but when one of your beloved ones is urged to hospital in a crititcal state, everything else just becomes less important.

But I’m back. Battery filled. Good energy & good vibes J

By the way : CHER was back also ! Did any of you see her in Amsterdam or Sportpaleis Antwerpen ?

She’s AMAZING !! 73 and still rocking and looking better than ever. “Genes & gymnastic” (like she always says) DO pay off, obviously. It gives me hope for the future. Keeping fit is soooo important !

Looking good, too, by the way. So let’s focus on some new brands I’ve been trying out/working for lately. I hope you will like them. Of course, Neostrata and Exuviance are still there. So is the German Klapp Cosmetics. The new ones are French and I LOVE them. You’ll see, I’m sure you like them too !

Vive la France, i’d say and enjoy some new articles !

Having worked in the beauty industry for decades now :-), but hadn’t worked on a stand for so many years. It was frankly LOVELY & INSPIRING to be back, working on the Utrecht Beauty Trade 2019!

The EXUVIANCE/HELIOCARE team was great, the atmosphere was fantastic and the enthusiasm from (new) clients even greater ! It’s nice to be able to help and advice beauticians/skin therapists find and discover a new brand that may bring even more success in the future.

We’ve spoken to so many nice & interresting persons and I’ve met collegues I hadn’t seen in years.

I’d like to thank everyone who helped making this possible, especially father and daughter Filip and Charlotte Heylesonne from HDP Esthetic, who organised everything in the best possible way.

And thanks you for your interrest in the brands we represented & hope to see you in the future !

Hi you guys, here’s some “in between” news for you. Just to make sure certain things that I plan to do on my blog are known.

I (we, being me and my website constructor :-)) are planning to do a series on Korean skincare. I discovered Korean skincare about 4 years ago and must admit I was pretty sceptical at the beginning. In the meantime, my scepsis has changed into enthusiasm and I actually love using & testing Korean skincare brands.

The Korean approach is quite different from our current way of treating our skin. They have more steps (I hear you thinking : “ oh sh..”), but these steps go SO FAST one after another that this shouldn’t be a problem to anyone.

Their products are often much LIGHTER and more HYDRATING in every step of their system, plus they ALWAYS DOUBLE CLEANSE which I find absolutely great…

We went back to Italy last week. “Back” meaning back to our friends, after have stayed there for almost two years. The land of sun, good food, exceptional wines and olive trees. And friends. We made quite a few during these two years….

Umbria comes just after Tuscany. Where Tuscany has hills, Umbria has mountains. High mountains. And a more authentic landscape, I would say. Wilder, greener, more mysterious.

Back to Italy means seeing our friends;  one week of fun, food and happiness. We miss them and they miss us. But my work as a cosmetologist and many professional obligations made it impossible to stay there.

Back to Italy also means olive oil and Limoncello. We get fresh, non-manipulated, lovely olive oil. From the trees that were in our friends’ family for many generations. Some are hundreds of years old. Olive trees as far as your eye can see….

Limoncello. Federico, my partner, got several receipes from an Umbrian lady. Secret receipes she never shared with anyone else. But she felt so much sympaty that she shared it with us.

So now Federico has set up a small business with BIO olive oil and limoncello. Plus a few other home-made products. It started with family and friends, but now has grown out to something quite succesful. And all ingredients come from there, of course.

So our week was wonderful. Jack, our Italian dog, also enjoyed his week. He loves pasta, but he’s Italian, so it’s in his genes !

Now we’re back in Belgium. With lots of happy memories, and lots of olive oil and bio lemons, not to forget. The oil has been bottled, Limoncello is ripening and I’m back to work. And home to my bathroom with (at the moment) fifteen cleansers, twelve toners, seven serums and nine creams. But I’m doing this for YOU! So I can blog about them and tell you what they are like. Good excuse, isn’t it?

See you soon, lots of love, Phil

Oh, yes, for  Limoncello and BIO olive oil, email to: orchidee3d@gmail.com

Obviously, we should clean our face. We all know this. How to, is the question.

The last few decades, cosmetic companies have been telling us that cleansing our face is one of the most important things about skin care. They were right, they still are right. But the different ways to achieve a clean face are not all equal.

Our grandmothers were used to soap and water. Or even just water. Why can’t we just do this ? Go back to simple, classic methods. It worked for them, so why should’t it work for us ? Both men and women ?

We nowadays all live in a polluted area. Not only those who live in a city are exposed to exhaust fumes from cars, cigarette, smoke etc…. According to several studies, published in different dermatological journals, the microscopic particals found in these fumes could be responsible for increased hyperpigmentation…
