L’Occitane en Provence (the brands full name) is famous for its Shea Butter (Karité) based products. Karité is a natural, plant butter that does wonders for ultra-dry skins. The bodycream and lotion, as well as the handcream have made the brand famous.

So when Aqua Rhéotier came out, I was curious: a THIRST-QUENCHING GEL, with HYALURONIC ACID seemed the LAST THING  one would expect from this brand…

On my skin

The active ingredient HYALURONIC ACID has become a classic one. It’s an excellent moisture binder for our often DEHYDRATED skins. Some even consider this active ingredient as THE MOST IMPORTANT one in cosmetics.

Texture: fresh gel.

Fragrance: yes, clearly present, fresh.

How it works: IMMEDIATELY restores moisture levels in your skin.

How to use: on its own or under a cream, I would say. Over a serum doesn’t seem an option, as the product tends to be sticky. So make sure to use it sparingly ! For the same reason, I prefer it for daytime (under a cream or sunblock), as it tends to make your face stick to your pillowcase at night.

Positive points: gives a very comfortable feeling, very light in texture ; nice for men after shaving, too.

Negative points: like I said, tends to be sticky.

Comes in a cream version also, but the gel is really nicer.

Do I recommend ? Absolutely!
