Hydration – Protection – Radiance
“With Chanel’s exclusive ultra-hydrating ingredient Camellia Alba and Blue Ginger that helps protect and reinforce skin’s self-defence system.”
Chanel stands for luxury. French chique and subtility. Beautiful packaging combined with a focus on active ingredients. The Hydra Beauty line also has a Serum, Crème Nutrition (rich texture), Eye Serum. A Gel-Cream and a Hydra Essence Mist were added recently.
Ingredients: aqua (water), glycerin, octyldodecyl neopentanoate, hydrogenated polyisobutene, silica, C 12-15 alkyl benzoate, pentylene glycol, octyldodecanol, peg-40 stearate, camelia kissi seed oil, glyceryl stearate, ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate/vp copolymer, zingiber officinale (ginger) root extract, camelia japonica flower extract, butyrospermun parkii (shea) butter, phytosteryl canola glycerides, phenoxyethanol, saccharide isomerate, cetyl alcohol, steareth-2, dimethicone, parfum (fragrance), caprylyl glycol, sodium carbomer, lauroyl lysine, propylene glycol, PEG -12, pentaerythrityl tetra-di- t-butyl hydroxyhydrocinnamate, sodium hyaluronate, sodium citrate, phytic acid, citric acid, tocopherol, ascorbyl palmitate, sodium benzoate.
How it works : This formula has hydrating as well as cell-protecting ingredients. Camellia (Tea plant) and Ginger both are powerfull anti-oxidants, which help our skin cells to defend themselves against external damage (like pollution). The same goes for vitamin C and E (be it in a much lower dosage in this product) and phytic acid, which also is a plant-based anti-oxidant. Glycerin and hyaluronic acid are effective moisturizing ingredients.
Texture: creamy ( yes I know this is a cream, but some creams happen to be more “creamy”, than others), soft, rich, without being oily. Gives immediate comfort, especially if you combine the product with the Micro Serum (underneath). Slightly perfumed.
All skin types, I would say, although Chanel advises this one for dry/normal skin ; even “combination” skin types can use this on days skin feels a bit tight. Really dry skin can try the “Nutrition” version.
Natural? No, but interresting plant-based active ingredients.
Use as a day/night cream; no sun filter was added, so you’ll need to use one over this product during daytime.
Plus: really hydrating, very nice textures and excellent anti-oxidants. Very luxury feel, but this is just personal and has nothing to do with the benefits for skin.
Minus: could’t think of one.
Available from most perfumeries and department stores.
